Why EVERYONE seeking wisdom should read the Bible.

You know I love reading. It’s only March, and I am already halfway through the list of books I said I wanted to read in 2010. I just find such value in learning from those wiser, who have made collosal mistakes, who want to help the rest of us get ahead. Yes—I. Love. Reading. And I’m becoming more and more convinced that everyone, Christian or not, should read the Bible. And here’s why…
Whether you believe everything it says or not, you are missing out on a huge collection of timeless wisdom by ignoring the Bible. Here’s a few examples. In the Bible, you can:
- Get a master’s degree in finance by reading Proverbs.
- Become a more loving husband by reading 1 Peter 3:7.
- Grow into a better leader by following 1 Peter 5:5.
- Get a reality check on prosperity in James 1:10.
- Find out what your judgmental criticism really means about you in Romans 2:1.
The list goes on and on, and as Andy Stanley says, “You don’t believe everything you read anyways, so why not explore the Scriptures?” Give it a shot… see what you think.
